Janice Pavlides grew up in rural Olney, Maryland. Her appreciation for the great outdoors began with her early childhood family trips to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Her love for travel and adventure was sparked by her first visit to the ancestral homes of her grandparents on the peninsula of Greece. It was here, at age eight, that she started to capture nature, people and history with her Kodak 104.

She has continued her photographic journey through the years with shoots in Mexico, Venezuela, Portugal, Morocco, Egypt, Alaska, The American West, The New England Coast, and The Chesapeake Bay. Janice shares her love for the exploration of culture and nature with her daughters at their home in Connecticut.
